Curriculum
Our Lady of Hope/St. Luke School is a God-centered community committed to academic excellence. We offer a comprehensive,
Catholic education designed to develop the whole child through faith and character development, and a rigorous course of study.
Religion: Students’ spiritual and moral growth is fostered through daily prayer and religion
classes. Participation at Mass and other liturgical celebrations encourages a
personal relationship with God.
Math: Students gain mastery in conceptual understanding, procedural skills, computation,
and problem solving through a comprehensive, sequential course of study.
Language Arts: Students are trained to become proficient readers and writers by developing skills in vocabulary,
word study, reading comprehension, literature, grammar, spelling, handwriting, and written and oral expression.
Science: Students are provided research opportunities, multi-disciplinary applications,
and hands-on learning experiences to enhance the course of study.
Social Studies: Students appreciate and understand the importance of community,
state, national, and world issues that are ever changing. The study of ancient
cultures to contemporary governments provides depth and sequence to the
curriculum.
Spanish: Students are encouraged to respect and appreciate diversity through the study of foreign language.
Listening, speaking, and writing skills are integral to the program.
Special Classes: Students are enriched physically, intellectually, and socially through participation
in physical education, art, general music, library, and computer classes.
